AeroSpace Training Centre

In this section:

The AeroSpace Training Centre is comprised of two distinct facilities, which includes a 1,500 square metre hangar facility that houses a variety of aircraft including Polytechnic West's very own Boeing 737.

Our Boeing 737 is maintained in a fully serviceable condition, and used as a non-flying static training facility for students in many of the training courses, from Pilot Studies, to Cabin Crew, to Aircraft Maintenance, and even Safety and Ground Handling.

Other ASTC facilities and training devices available for students include: additional fixed wing and rotorcraft static trainers, a campus Library, Learning Resource Centre with computer and wireless internet resources, computer based training modules, and a flight simulator.

The AeroSpace Training Centre can be accessed by public transport via the Murdoch Train Station and then connection bus service to Jandakot Airport. Please check the details on the Transperth website for the most current train and bus schedules.

The Jandakot Campus can be accessed from Kwinana Freeway by exiting onto Roe Highway and then taking the Karel Avenue exit. You then turn south and follow the Jandakot Airport signs until Karel Ave ends in a roundabout. From the roundabout, turn left onto Compass Road to access our Hangar facility or take the right exit onto Eagle Drive to arrive at our Annexe facility. Student parking is available across the road from the AeroSpace Training Centre's Hangar.

No need to bring your lunchbox!

Although there is no cafeteria on campus, the AeroSpace Training Centre is only a short walk to a number of local eateries located on Jandakot Airport.

There is a public viewing area next to the Control Tower, this gives a close up view of aircraft landing and departing.
