Midland’s specialist metals and engineering centre has been built to ensure a focus on new technologies and the integration of these technologies across traditional trade and industry sectors. Students learn high speed, high precision operations in a safe environment on a range of various programmable automated equipment. They’re exposed to up-to-date computer controlled machining technology and, they’ll gain skills in industrial robotics and component design, using current industry standard computer-aided design. We are an industry leader in delivery of fluid power training.
Polytechnic West’s Midland campus is also the only TAFE provider of Signcrafts training in WA. Students have access to the state’s first and only Flecknoe Thermoform/Vacuumform training machine which can produce the type of illuminated sign you’d see outside your average fast-food outlet (amongst other things). The machine is worth almost $80,000 and virtually 100% Australian made, using agile, innovative Australian design concepts.
Surrounded by the Blackadder and Woodbridge creeks in the heart of Perth’s Swan Valley region you’ll find Polytechnic West’s Midland campus, delivering the widest range of Polytechnic West courses.
